SEPTEKH (Sweden) “The Seth Avalanche” CD EP review

By Luca Piotto

Powerful and outrageous. Animal instinct. Directed towards the energy and the song. Death and black that are interwoven with a simple result: complete devastation. These four deathsters from Stockholm have only one idea in mind: to make music that destroys. They’re fast, they are technical, they are heavy, are rebellious, totally disrespectful. A hideously deformed creature, a hybrid composed of hellish death metal, black metal and … Mötorhead. They can switch from rhythmic riffs created with the express purpose of provoking an awesome headbanging, ultra-fast riffs, designed to kill, to massacre, to bleed. “Blunt Force To The Head” is an example of this musical schizophrenia, split personality of this sound. Sound that almost leads to violent punk sounds extreme, or old-school death metal, “Not Quite What I Had in Mind” demonstrates exactly this uncontrolled violence. Six tracks of pure malice, total massacre. All coldly premeditated: it is evident that Septekh know exactly what to get. The opener “Fuckslut From Hell”, as well as the provocative title, can be furiously fast, nefariously black metal, and offer solos typical of hypervelocity death. The closing song is a true monument to the rhythm, never too fast (when compared with the rest) shows compositional skills, emphasizes the powerful growl, and points out that the production is of good quality, so that you can not hear well the beautiful bass line that accompanies the rhythmic cadence. A job that offers satisfaction, the true metal sound extreme, uncompromising, without pity, without respect. Exactly how it should be

Rating: 7/10
